At Least Eleven Injured In Bus, 2-Car Crash In Harlem

Several people were injured in a collision involving a New York City M10 bus and two vehicles in Harlem this morning. Eleven were taken to area hospitals including St. Luke's, Harlem, Mount Sinai Hospitals. Five of the victims reportedly sustained serious injuries.

The accident occurred around 7am near West 135th Street and Broadway. Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.

MTA officials report that the two vehicles collided first, causing one to go out of control and crash into the bus. According to witnesses, one car (reportedly a livery cab or Lincoln Town car) was attempting to make a U-Turn when it clipped the other vehicle, an SUV. The impact reportedly sent the SUV careening into the M10 bus, which was stopped. The M10 bus driver and a passenger were among those injured.

The immediate aftermath of such an accident is a difficult and trying time for the victims and their families, but it is also important for them to protect their rights as early as possible. Block O'Toole & Murphy is committed to aiding victims and families of bus and car accidents as they face these very difficult times.

We at Block O'Toole & Murphy have experience and expertise in bus accidents and work hard to ensure that victims recover to the fullest extent possible under the law. For example, Block O'Toole & Murphy obtained a jury verdict of more than $2 million for a woman who was struck by a New York City Transit Authority bus. The woman was pushed by the bus but did not fall and the City Transit Authority had no record of the accident and claimed that it never happened. Our firm recovered a $6 million settlement for another client who was a passenger on a New York City Transit bus that collided with a truck. We obtained a $3 million settlement for another client who was a driver injured in a crash with an MTA bus. Our results include many more examples of multi-million dollar recoveries for bus-accident victims.

Block O'Toole & Murphy works not only to maximize our clients' recovery under the law but to bring comfort, support and relief to their sad stories. Our clients appreciate the care, attention, sensitivity and expertise we bring to their cases.
